Angelica’s Area Spotlight: A Great Escape in Kitchener – Literally

Here in the Kitchener-Waterloo area, we are proud to be able say that as far as innovations in business, education, sports and entertainment go, the area is often at the forefront, not only in Ontario but the country as a whole. And Adventure Rooms is a great example of that.

The Escape Rooms Craze Comes to Kitchener

Adventure Rooms is an attraction that is a part of a trend – maybe craze is a better word? – that has been sweeping North America and Europe in recent years; escape rooms. Just what are they? Basically an escape room is a physical, real life version of those wildly popular ‘escape the room’ video games.

Teams of people are literally locked in a special room and have to solve a series of puzzles in order to get out, all while racing against the clock, as there is a time limit imposed on players, which just adds to pressure! And Adventure Rooms in Kitchener is currently one of only two such offerings in Canada (the other being in Niagara Falls, once again putting us at the forefront of a worldwide trend!

A Visit to Adventure Rooms – What Can You Expect?

Three different Escape Rooms are offered at Adventure Rooms and each one is different. Although the management insists that the adventures are not too scary – so they are suitable for kids – but they are very tough; only just over 20% of the participants get out within the alloted hour time limit.

The adventures can be completed by teams of between 2-8 people – although teams of up to 22 can be accommodated, which is why it’s becoming a popular alternative to traditional team building exercises for a number of local businesses – and I’d imagine the more brains you can get together to solve the puzzles the better chance you would have of getting out in time!

In business for just about three years, Adventure Rooms – which you’ll find at 283 Duke St. W Unit 101, right by the new Google offices – has won numerous awards and is a huge favorite on Trip Advisor and Yelp! and in fact the two locations claim the Top 2 spots for Fun and Games in all of Ontario on TripAdvisor. Adventure Rooms is just one of the great attractions that the Kitchener- Waterloo area has to offer that make living here so attractive and exciting.

Now here’s my final question; do you think you would be able to solve the Escape Room puzzle in time?
