Angelica’s Area Spotlight – Easter Weekend 2017 in the Kitchener Waterloo Area

Easter weekend is a time when many people like to get out and have fun, not just because it’s a big holiday but because (hopefully) the weather is finally improving, Spring is in full swing and it’s just great to finally get outdoors.

Fortunately, for those looking for something fun and interesting to do this year the Kitchener-Waterloo area has plenty to offer. Here’s a look at just some of the exciting Easter events coming to the region this weekend.

Friday, April 14th – Sunday, April 16th

Easter Eggstravaganza at Joseph Schneider Haus

There will be a lot to do at Joseph Schneider Haus this weekend, including the chance to create (and take home) some traditional  Pennsylvania-German dyed Easter eggs (using natural dyes), sample some some very special cheese and enjoy a look around what is a fascinating venue to visit at any time of year. On the 15th the Easter Bunny will be arriving and he’ll be leading kids on a fun scavenger hunt around the property. You can get all of the event details here.

Friday, April 14th – Sunday, April 16th

The Easter Festival at Springridge Farm

Out at Springridge Farm in Milton they will be celebrating Easter in a big way all weekend long. There will be Easter crafts, including face painting, a bunny led Easter Egg hunt, a puppet show starring Peter Rabbit, rides, contests and more. You can learn more here.

Saturday, April 15th

Easter Egg Hunt at Huron Natural Area

If Mother Nature cooperates, this should be a lovely afternoon out for Easter crazy kids and grown ups looking to get some fresh air alike. There will be eggs hidden all over the park and, if you’re lucky, you may even spot some rabbits. The event is sponsored by the City of Kitchener and it’s free admission for all. Just remember to bring a basket for those eggs!

Saturday, April 15th

The Easter Bunny Train

The Easter Bunny Express will be setting off from St Jacobs Market Station at three different times during the day and on each ride the onboard fun will be led by none other than the Easter Bunny himself. Not only that but the experience of riding one of those lovely old steam trains through some truly beautiful countryside is a fabulous one in itself.

These are just a few of the great Easter events that will be in full swing this weekend, but no matter what you do, we hope you have fun!
